Was there truly a mountain? Or was it imagination? In fact a mountain of humanity dominates this work. A crowd of people organized in a circular geometry has at its center a shining Christ seated under an oak tree.

In this presentation no detail can be considered apart for the whole forms a continuity. One’s regard travels joyously around the dimensions of the work and around the inner soul.

The words of the Master come down to us across two thousand years to move us yet again. All attention is turned toward the Master of Creation and is lost in the boundless heaven. Everywhere there shines a sacred light.

In the distant left Mount Hermon looms as a silent witness.

The actual material is a rich, thick paste with touches of lively movement. The colors are spread, or rather sown, around as in a field of wheat, but here the field is the crowd of humanity and the sun its soul.
