Oil Paintings by Joseph Matar

The greater part of Joseph Matar output is in oil paintings, a discipline which was reveled in the 15th century by Van Eyek and has a place of honor in the work of all great painters.  In his thesis presented at the Sorbonne in Paris, Joseph Matar dealt with it at great length, covering the preparation of the supporting canvas and of the colors whether transparent or solid.  As a means of expression oils abound in rich resources.
