Masterpieces
The Thirteen Triad 37-38-39
The subject is so vast that several canvases are required so that each aspect may be treated separately, Christ as the Source of Living Water, Justice, the Life, the Light, and so on.
In this particular work we find a summary where here and there the artist presents us with a surrealist touch, away from reality, with an inverse perspective, the foreground, the center ground and a distant group brought to the front.
To the left one sees a fountain which has been flowing since the creation of time; some jars are being filled as a small crowd gathers close. Then to provide balance there is another group to the right of which motherhood is the theme, where richly-dressed women and children are seated, listening and watching.
In the center, a road leads up to Christ. He stands surrounded by several personages, the Holy Virgin his Mother, with to his left the Holy Spirit and light from a warm, luminous sky.
Everything sacred here is ethereal and transparent, spread over the whole canvas. Secret lines lead up to Christ with richness in the color and movement. The whole leads one’s thoughts to the presence of the Holy Trinity.
